Joseph Kesterson, 90, 37-year resident of Skiatook, OK passed away Friday, January 13, 2017 in Skiatook. He was born February 20, 1926 in Puxico, MO to Alvie Kesterson and the former Sadie Jane Henley.
Joe served on the LST1096 during World War II. He was happiest when talking about his service.
He worked for Tulsa Public Schools for 19 years and for Tulsa Technology Center for 10 years before retiring 30 years ago. In retirement, he spent his time raising cows and doing church work at Fellowship Tabernacle, where he attended.
He is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of almost 73 years, Beulah of the home, 2 sons: Steve Kesterson of Collinsville and Denzel Kesterson and his wife Nancy of Oologah, 5 grandchildren: Joseph Kesterson, Eric Kesterson, Robert Kesterson, Janine Kesterson and Jennifer Marino, also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home with Rev. James Stotts officiating. Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
