John Russell (Rusty) Doshier

Services for John Russell (Rusty) Doshier will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15 at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church (9472 E Hwy 20) in Claremore. Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and all day Friday at the Oologah Funeral Home.

Rusty was the son of Sylvia Maxine (Baldwin) Doshier and the late John Doshier of Oologah. He was born on February 25, 1956 and died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007 in rural Montana.

Rusty was always adventuresome. He was a lover of life and lived his dreams everyday. “No” and “You can’t do that,” were never in his vocabulary.

Some young men dream of being a captain of a sailing ship or piloting airplanes. Rusty found great joy in doing both and then some. When his travels took him to distant places he would tell his family to watch for a full moon and look at it at a specific time and he would be looking at it where ever in the world he was.

Rusty’s work took him to many interesting places. He had installed dialysis clinics in China and in many areas of the United States. Another assignment took him to Singapore to install CAT scanning equipment.

Setting goals was an annual event for Rusty. His next year’s goal was to get below 200 pounds. One year it was to send more cards to his many family members.

He often told his family “I love you,” but his favorite saying was “I am a lucky dog.”

Rusty is survived by his mother, Maxine, step-daughter, Molly Redyke of Broken Arrow, step-grandson, Parker of Broken Arrow, sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Johnny Bussey of Oologah, nephews Andrew Bussey and wife Katie of Oologah and Spencer Bussey of Evanston, Wyoming.
