Joan Garrett

Joan Garrett born Margaret Joan Shellena Sisco September 16, 1933 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She left this world to meet Jesus her savior on January 21, 2017.

Preceeded in death by her husband, Claude Kenneth Garrett, father, Charles William Sisco and mother, Geraldine Vivian Shell Sisco and sisters, Eda May Sisco and Sherri Sisco. Surviving her are her sons Michael Garrett and wife Christina, Jerry Garrett and wife Melanie, and daughter Karen Kirk and husband Mark.

Joan had nine grandchildren. Tony Garrett, Andrew Garrett and wife Alison, Alex Garrett and wife Ayla, Melissa Howerton and husband Jason, Ryan Garrett and wife Emily, Amy Garrett, Stacy Lookout and husband Sammie, Austin Kirk and wife Kristin, and Katelyn Kirk.

Ten great grandchildren. Bella Garrett, Mia Garrett, Lilly Garrett, Elizabeth Garrett, Hazel and Annalee Howerton. Gentri Yates, Avery Kirk, Harley Lookout, and Oliver Kirk. Along with many other family and friends.

Joan was a housewife and home maker. Joan has lived in Collinsville for most of her 83 years. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Collinsville OK.

Joan (Nanny) loved Jesus and spending time with her family. She had many hobbies and things she enjoyed such as crocheting, knitting, sewing, crafting, cooking, traveling and especially going to the First Baptist Church. She was the heart of the home. She loved cooking for her family and having birthday and holiday dinners at her home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan’s name to the Senior Adult Ministry at Collinsville First Baptist Church.

The funeral will be at the Collinsville First Baptist Church, Wednesday January 25, 2017 at 2:00 with Dr. Tim Prock officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home, (918) 371-2111.
