Jimmy Ray Swift

July 9, 1947 — September 17, 2010

Jimmy Ray Swift was born July 9, 1947 in Tulsa, OK to Ralph Jackson “Jack” Swift and Mary Jo Spyres Swift. He attended Collinsville Public Schools where he played High School football and graduated in 1965.

Following graduation he served in the Oklahoma National Guard and worked for Burnside and Heinrich’s Hardware Store. He married Sharon Guinn in 1966 and had a daughter Tina Marie Swift Scheetz. In 1978, he remarried to Brenda Chambers and lovingly helped raise a step-daughter Rikki Denise Lamberson Crown.

He coached grade school football for many years and was loved by his players for his sense of fairness and enthusiasm for the game.

He was self employed and subcontracted through American Builders Supply until his retirement in 2010.

Jimmy spent his youth hunting and fishing all around the Collinsville area. He loved all sports and spent his spare time watching his favorite football teams and fishing shows. Being a member of the Oologah Lake Bass Club for many years, he gained many friendships and most every weekend you could find him doing what he moved most and the was Bass Fishing!!!!!!

He came to know Jesus Christ as his Savior as a child and attended the Collinsville Christian Church. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Mary Jo Swift and 1 step-brother Jimmy W. Downey Jr.

He is survived by his daughter Tina Scheetz of the home and 1 grandson, Justin Scheetz, of Stanaway, Washington, Denise Lamberson, 4 step grandchildren, Cody II, Carley, Cassie and Corey.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 19, 2010 from 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Monday, September 20, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
