Jess Hamby

December 6, 1930 — July 5, 2012

Jess Hamby went to be with the Lord on Thursday July 5th at 6:30 am. He was born in Welling, Ok December 6, 1930 to Marion and Pauline (Sellers) Hamby.

Jess was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Edna Hamby Brock and his wife Joyce.

Jess is survived by his daughters; Paulette and Dennis Griffin of Big Cabin, Ok, Shirlene and Charlie Watashi of Talala, Ok, and Carlene and David Kitrell of Talala, Ok. Grandchildren; Lindsay Johnson and her two daughters of Edmond, Ok, Shelia and Tim Parker and their four children of Talala, Ok, Dawn and Joe Gray and their five children of Talala, Ok, Amy and Scott Bailey and their 3 children of Owasso, Ok, and Josh Kitrell of Collinsville, Ok. He is also survived by nieces; Christal and Bodie Crow of Tahlequah, Ok, Sandra and Robert Ryals of Welling, Ok, Joyce Curry of Jay, Ok, Carol and Jim Robbins of Dry Creek, Ok, and numerous great nephews and nieces.

Jess was a lifelong machinist working for Orbit Valve and Rockwell International. In his spare time he was an avid coon hunter who loved the outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving visitors from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Visitation will also be Sunday, 1:30 to 6:00 p.m. Both will be at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Full Gospel Christian Center in Watova, OK with Bro. Joe Goodin and Bro. Phil Platner officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Talala, OK.

Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
