James Roland Thomas

James Roland Thomas of Talala, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the age of 73. James was born on February 27, 1941 in Lafayette, IN to Homer and Mary (Humrig) Thomas. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in Lafayette in 1959. James served his country for 4 years in the Air Force. He married Sandra Howard and in their 40 years together they raised 3 children. Through the years, James worked as a supervisor for different manufacturing companies. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and watching TV.

James is survived by his wife Sandra of the home; his children, Mark and Angie Thomas, Kelly Keiger, and Deb and Ken Schondel; Stepsons, Bryan Schoemaker, Jimmy Schoemaker, and Jeff Schoemaker; his siblings, Larry and Rose Thomas and Linda Dunbar; 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary Ann, and his grandson, Chris Schondel.

Visitation for James will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

The Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Oologah First Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Downum officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Talala. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home, (918) 371-2111.
