James “Jim” Kirklin was born in Shamrock, TX to Richard Kirklin and Helen Marshall Kirklin. He passed away on November 27, 2017. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Jim worked as a machinist and then as an overhaul support mechanic at American Airlines. He enjoyed fishing, archeology, and his bison.
Jim is survived by his life partner, Sarah Field, aunts and uncles; Betty Ann Henning and Ronald of Reydon, OK; James Tilden Marshall, Jr. and Cely of Joplin, Mo; and John Wilfred Marshall and Jeanne of Platte City, MO; cousins; Debrah Teague Cowan, Denise Teague Parman, Lola Henning West, Audra and Courtney Marshall, Karen Kirklin McPherson, Sean and Aaron Marshall, Jimmy, Ron, and Steve Henning, Irvin Kirklin and John Young.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 30, 2017 and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday December 1, 2017 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home. Private interment will take place at a later date. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
