James William Cottingim

Jim Cottingim (81) of Oologah, Ok passed away March 4th 2009 peacefully from the arms of his loving family. Jim Cottingim was born December 06, 1927 to Emery and Dora Cottingim. He was preceeded in death by his parents and brother Manual Cottingim. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dona Cottingim, his children, son Robert Cottingim and wife Toni (Collinsville, OK), daughter Debbie Trower (Oologah, OK), son Bud Cottingim and wife Steva (Tulsa, OK), his grandchildren, James Robert Cottingim and wife Brandy, Rustin Draper and husband Sean, Bryan Williams and wife Angela, T.J. Williams and wife Jennifer, Shaunda Cottingim, Charla Lentz and husband Nathan, Maggie Cottingim, Mary Cottingim, his great-grandchildren, Delaney and Tristian Cottingim, Levi, Lexi, and Layton Draper, Summer, Stormy, Blaine, and Brylee Williams, Halle, Ellary, Gage, and Casen Lentz, Sister, Maryhelen Cottingim, Brother-in-laws, Cecil Reese and wife Peggy, Larry O’Brien and wife Debbie, Jim O’Brien and wife Sherry, Sister-in-laws, Billy Williams and husband Jim, Becky O’Brien, Dorris Hammons and husband Johny, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Jim met and married the love of his life Dona 64 years ago in Tulsa, Ok. He was a member of the U.S. Navy and served his country in the Pacific and China Sea. Jim attended and graduated from Holy Family High School and Tulsa University. He was a well known buisness man, owning Cloverleaf Wholesale Lumber in Tulsa, OK. He was involved in the oil and gas industry for many years, and was a co-owner of 3-C ranch in Oologah, OK, with his family where he raised cattle and was in the horse racing industry. Jim was a member of the Sertoma Club and was also a Charter member of the East Central Junior Football Athletics program in the 60’s. He was a longtime supporter of Collinsville Public School and their athletics programs. Jim was a member of the Collinsville Athletic Booster club where he never missed a Cardinal football game and was known as simply “grandpa” to the coaches, teachers, parents, and kids. His greatest love was his wife, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, the ranch, and his beloved cat, Thomas. Our Daddy, Grandpa, and “Ol Grandpa will be missed by all those that knew and loved him! He was a man of dying breed, straight forward, honest, and said just what was on his mind. The toughest man we ever knew. He was the rock and leader of our family and will be missed till we meet again in heaven. We love you!

Visitation will be Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. A wake will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the St. Therese Catholic Church. A Funeral Mass will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 9, 2009 at the St. Therese Catholic Church.
