Jack Edward Young

Jack Edward Young was born February 12, 1936 to Hardy Edward Young and Mae
Kathryn Timbrook. Jack’s stepfather and best friend was Henry Marvin Timbrook. Henry and
Mae were married, May 28, 1943. Jack’s cousins, Carolyn Gilbert Testerman and Vaughn
Gilbert, were raised by the Timbrook family as siblings to Jack. Jack graduated from Collinsville
High School in 1954. He was a proud Cardinal and member of the Nifty Fifties. Jack married the
love of his life, Wanda Fern Young, on October 3, 1958. Together, they had three beloved
children Russell, Donna, and Bryan.

Jack joined the US Army in 1957 where he served until 1965. After his military service,
Jack worked as a civil servant until 1966. From 1965 through 2003, Jack and many family
members worked at Timbrooks Service, which is one of Collinsville’s longest owned operational
businesses. Many knew Jack for smoking meat, which was his favorite way to serve his friends,
family, and community.

On the afternoon of October 14, 2023, Jack Young went to be with our Heavenly Father.
He passed peacefully and was comforted by family members in Collinsville, OK. He lived an
extremely full and abundant 87 years.

Jack is survived by his children: Russell (Mary) Young, Donna (John) Coen, and Bryan
(Ramona) Young; his grandchildren: Corey (Carly) Graham, Katy Young, Ryan (Bailey) Young,
Matt Young (girlfriend Vicki Kolosha), Rachel (Stephen) Edwards, Gail (Konner) Neal, and
Remy Young; his great Grandchildren: Landree, Henlee, and Cooper Graham, Drake
Lemasters, Bristol Young, and Luke and Kinsey Edwards; and many cherished extended family.

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 27, 2023 at 10 am. Dr. Tim Prock will
officiate the memorial at First Baptist Church Collinsville. Services are under the direction of
Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests to donate to the
Deacon’s fund at First Baptist Church of Collinsville or a charity of your choice in Jack’s name.
