Hazel Lorrean VanDuesen of Collinsville passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2006 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 90. She was born on February 5, 1916 in Tulsa to David Edward and Lavada Alice (Ussery) Adams. Her husband, Lee M. VanDuesen preceded her in death.
Hazel lived in the Collinsville area since 1940 having moved from Tulsa. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Collinsville. She worked for REA and Elledge Insurance. She also worked for the City of Collinsville as City Clerk, a position which she retired from in 1978. After retiring she worked part time for the Rendering Plant and Holman Seed Farms, where she worked about 10 years for Mrs. Holman.
Hazel is survived by her Brother, Elmo Adams and wife Ann of Owasso, OK; 3 Sisters, Amber West of Tulsa,OK, Mable Skidmore of Collinsville, OK, and Willie Jo Gober of Owasso, OK; numerous Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Lavada Adams; her Husband, Lee M. VanDuesen, 2 brothers, Earl L. Adams and Clarence Adams; 1 Sister, Katie Carr; 1 Nephew, Kenneth Adams; and 1 Niece, Glenda Adams.
Visitation for Hazel is set for Wednesday, August 23, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 24, 2006 at the Collinsville Funeral Home Chapel followed by a private Graveside Service at Ridgelawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Harbor Children’s Home and Academy in Hazel’s name.
