Harvey Earl Sory

Harvey Earl Sory, 67, Sweet Home, OR passed away peacefully on December 6, 2009. He was born November 8, 1942 in Collinsville, OK to Walter Sory and Anna Elizabeth (Daugherty) Sory. Harvey graduated from Collinsville High School and attended NSU in Tahlequah before enlisting in the Navy. He served his country during the Vietnam Era aboard the U.S.S. Hancock. He worked overseas for several years after his Honorable Discharge from the Navy and upon returning to the States, Harvey worked as a computer engineer. His proudest moments were spent being a dad and a grandfather. He had a love of books, reading and learning new things. He even taught himself to be a wonderful cook.

A loving father, Harvey is survived by his daughter: Elizabeth Gallery and husband Tom of Bartlesville, OK and his son: Michael Sory and wife Mindy of Colorado Springs. One Grandson: Elijah Sory. His mother, Anna Elizabeth Sory, his partner and friend, Andrea Hoffmeister of Sweet Home, OR. He is also survived by two sisters: Martha Blair and husband Don of Tulsa, OK and Mary Elizabeth Upky and husband Russell of Alamogordo, NM, his nephew, Patrick Kyle Upky and niece, Olivia Upky.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 pm Monday, December 21, 2009 at the Meadowcreek First United Methodist Church in Collinsville, OK with Rev Brian Mangan officiating.
