Harold Eugene McLain, 69, resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday morning at his home.
Harold was born on September 19, 1952 to Joseph and Mary McLain of Ramona. He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Caney Valley High School in 1970. He and his brother Roy (born in 1950) graduated together because Roy was intentionally held back so he could spend more time with him. They were quite a pair. He and his sister, Connie Sumner, and their spouses (Georgia McLain and Jesse Sumner) both built houses on the family farm at a young age and they all enjoyed being close as they raised their families next door to their mom. Harold took up carpentry shortly after graduating and worked as a shop foreman for Apache Fixtures for over 30 years. He most recently worked with A&M Construction (before retiring) remodeling older homes with his close friend, Jim Alderson. He met his wife Darah during this time. They were married in March of 2014 in Tulsa, OK. They enjoyed traveling, family gatherings and doing prison ministry together prior to his illness. Harold was nicknamed “The Man of Steel” because he was literally one of the toughest guys you could ever meet. Later he would be called “Miracle Man” because of the faith and fight he displayed time and again during his battle with cancer. He has now won that battle and is worshipping his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
