Burial
Gloria Gae Hill
March 8, 1935---March 13, 2026
Our mother and Grammy, Gloria Gae Hill (91) passed away in Owasso, Oklahoma on March 13, 2026.
Gae was born in Houston, Texas on March 8, 1935. She was raised as an only child and told her own children about going to up to 32 different schools throughout her life. Her father worked at several different field harvests and did not stay in one place very long. It was nothing for him to come in and tell her to start packing because they were moving to California. He always provided for his family, but it came with a cost. Gae did get to return to Lenapah, Ok. to graduate in 1953.
She met our dad, Charles Hill, shortly after graduation and they married in October 1953. Together, they raised four children and settled in Collinsville, where they called home for the remainder of their lives. After his retirement, they bought a motor home and traveled throughout the country any chance they got.
Gae was very proud to work with the US Postal Service, walking a mail route in Collinsville, where she got to know many of the people in this town. When she was no longer able to work with the Postal Service, she expanded her love for art by painting and teaching others various forms of art. Once our dad passed away, she started attending classes at Tulsa Community College where she transformed her love of art onto the computer by form of Photoshop. She had found out that she could take classes for free as a retiree. She signed up to take the same class for the fifth time, when someone suggested that she teach the class. She loved teaching and was so honored to be asked to do that. She continued to teach until she was 80 years old. Her students loved her and she was honored with Adjunct Faculty of the Year Award at age 78.
She is survived by her children Richard Hill of Chouteau Ok., Dee (Mark) Helm of Collinsville, Toni Hill of Tulsa, Ok., Kevin (Sonya) Hill of Broken Arrow, Ok., grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Berniece and Orbie Pollett, grandsons, Michael Hill and Austin Helm.
We will miss Gae tremendously, but we know that she is with Our Saviour, Jesus Christ and celebrating a wonderful reunion with so many of the people she loved throughout her life on earth.
