Gerald D. Roach, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024, at home in Catoosa, OK. He was surrounded by his loving family in the days before his passing. He lived a life marked by dedication, service and a deep love for his family.
Gerald dedicated his life to serving those he loved. He and his mother, Mabel Mae Roach, were close. He would walk her to work, as a child. When she passed away, he always made sure her headstone was decorated, as long as his health allowed. He was known to mow his neighbor’s yard and would not accept anything for his generosity. He had a passion for detailing his vehicles, including his Harley Davidson Trike. He also loved spending time watching Oklahoma University.
Gerald served honorably in the United States Army. His time in Vietnam left a mark on his heart. On May 3rd, 1982, he married the love of his life, Lois Mae (Owens) Roach. They made their home in Catoosa, OK, where he worked many years at Tuloma Stevedoring at the Port of Catoosa.
He is survived by his wife, Lois of the home; 2 sons: and many grandchildren. He also had a sister, Shirley Ann Musgrave and brother-in-law, Troy Musgrave of Pryor, OK and a brother, Terry Roach of Claremore, brother-in-law, Robert Carter of Collinsville, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mom, Mable Mae Roach, his dad, Cecil W. Roach, 3 brothers, Wallace, Allen and Clay, and 2 sisters: Dova and Claudine.
He will have his memorial graveside at the Fairview Cemetery in Pryor, OK, Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 10:00 am. with Mr. John C. Flud, Sr. officiating.
Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
