Genevieve Adams

Zella Genevieve Adams passed away Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the age of 83. Genevieve was born May 31, 1925 to CC and Zenuia Pershall in Tonkawa, OK. Genevieve was the oldest of six children. She was raised in the Burbank oilfield area. Genevieve married her high school sweetheart, Lewis Adams on December 18, 1941. They were long time residents of Ponca City where they raised three daughters. They were also long time residents of Artesia, NM where they lived until 2003, at which time they moved to the Collinsville Area to be closer to family.
Genevieve is survived by her husband of 66 years, Lewis Adams, of the home in Collinsville, her three daughters; Lonnia Jorgenson of Central City, IA, Shirley Mashburn of Claremore, and Cathy Mullennax of Columbus, GA; seven grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren (one due in April 2009). She is also survived by three sisters, Aleta Herrington of Ocheleta, Lou Mow of Whipporwill Point, and Carol Long of Whipporwill Point, and two brothers, Wesley Pershall of Selado, TX and Dean Pershall of Grand Junction, CO. Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, and son-in-law Joe Mashburn.
Funeral Services for Zella Genevieve (Pershall) Adams will be at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Community Church in Bowring, OK. Bill Long will officiate. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park in Ponca City. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home and Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Community Church. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
