Gary Leroy Hemphill

Gary “Pops” Hemphill of Talala, Oklahoma passed away Monday, December 4, 2006 in Talala. He was 62. He was born February 15, 1944 in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma to Jessie and Betty Hemphill. He lived in the Talala area for the last 29 years having moved from Arizona. He worked as a welder for Gaffey Crane and Hoist for 16 years.

Gary had a great love for family and especially his 5 granddaughters with whom he treasured spending time with. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and collected many bikes over the years. He belonged to the ABATE club of Rogers County and was an Honorary Member of the VFW. He will be missed by all.

Gary is survived by his Father, Jessie Hemphill of Bartlesville; 2 Daughters, Tracy Cox and Husband Nate of Durant, OK and Misti Raper and Husband Tim of Talala, OK; 1 Sister, Peggy Wilson of Nowata, OK; 3 Brothers, Charlie Hemphill of Nowata, OK, Bobby Hemphill and Bill Hemphill both of Claremore, OK; 5 Grandchildren, Kilie, Kristian, Kaitlyn, and Kelsey Raper of Talala, OK and Isabelle Cox of Durant, OK; numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Betty Robards, his Wife Auora Marie, and 1 Son, Michael Paul.

Visitation for Gary Hemphill will be held 12:00p.m.- 8:00p.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Oologah Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held 2:00p.m., Thursday, December 7, 2006 at the Oologah Assembly of God Church. Interment follows at Fairview Cemetery in Talala.
