Freda Jean Allen

Freda Jean Allen, 74, of Talala, OK passed away Friday, August 21, 2009 in Collinsville. She was born November 28, 1934 in Oglesby, OK to Buck Oz Allen and Ann Belle (O’Dell) Allen Rosson. Freda worked as a Custodian for Oologah – Talala Public Schools until her retirement. Her hobbies included sewing quilts, ceramics and painting. She was an avid lover of animals, especially her cats. Freda was loved by her family and will be missed by many.

Freda is survived by one brother: Ben Allen and his wife Velma of Bartlesville, OK; her special friend, Marvin Lunsford of Oologah; an uncle, Ernest Odell and his wife Jo of Ochelata, OK and an aunt, Esther Thompson and her husband Sam of Norman, OK; 6 nieces and nephews; 8 great nieces and nephews; and a great-great nephew. Freda was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Minnie Mendell, and several aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be Monday, August 24, 2009 at Oologah Dolton Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Ramona Cemetery with Rev. David Wheeler officiating. Services are under the direction of Oologah Dolton Funeral Home.
