Francis Allene Coe, 58, of Talala,Ok,went to be with the Lord Monday September, 11, 2006 at 1:07 P.M., with family and friends by her side.
She was born in Canadian, OK on May 25, 1948 to Clensie Loyd and the former Alta Devore.
She is survived by her husband Melvin F. Coe, two sisters Johnny Moffett and Linda Mullian, three brothers Kenny Loyd, James Loyd and Gary Loyd. She was a mother to 3 sons, Mike, Cletis and Kevin Coe, and three daughters, Velena Whisneant, Phillis Cruzan, and Twyla Coe. She had 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clanecy and Alta Loyd of Talala, OK. Francis enjoyed being around people. She would listen to what they had to say, and then give her advice. Always in black and white with no gray areas to what her advice was, direct and to the point with no misunderstandings. She was ready at all times to lend a hand and offer her help to anyone in need. Frances and Melvin took great pride in their garden, always raising much more than they could put up and eat. Neighbors and friends were blessed by their efforts as were their children. Francis and Melvin were inseperatable. When you saw one you saw the other. She was a helpmate in everyway, willing to do whatever the task before her was, cutting wood, heading cattle, and building fence, whatever. The most enjoyable task was her family, ready to keep the grandkids at a moments notice. Never did she sparkle as much as when she and the grandkids played. She just could not get enough of her grandkids. Francis and Melvin liked to go on horse and wagon trail drives. The three day drives were her favorite as long as she had several grandkids to look after. And she really shined when cooking and camping around the wagons with those she loved. Francis’s last few years was plagued by Parkinson’s disease. Although the disease took more and more control of her body, it could not take control of her love for others. She certainly did not want to be a burden to anyone and was not. She had given so much of herself to others that giving back love and comfort was easy. Her unselfishness was her greatest gift from God to others. She was a member of the Oologah Assembly of God Church for many years. Before her illness she worked in the nursery. She loved working with small children and especially babies. She would always have a story to tell of how she comforted a crying baby. She loved it. Funeral Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday September 13, 2006 at the Oologah Assembly of God Church. She was laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery at Talala, Ok. We are confident in saying “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” Her battle with the body is over but her spirit lives on. She will be missed.
