Frances Hunt Cheek

Frances (Hunt) Cheek, 97 of Skiatook, OK went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 29 ^th , 2020 in Tulsa, OK.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, October 1, 2020 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home. The family will be present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Friday, October 2, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Collinsville with Dr. Tim Prock officiating. Interment will follow at the Winganon Cemetery.

Frances was born July, 11, 1923 in Vinita, OK to George D. Hunt and Maggie E. (Murnan) Hunt. She was one seven girls. She attended Cleora schools and graduated in 1941.  Frances married George H. Cheek on December 15 ^th , 1946, they married for 38 years. They made their home in Turley, OK where they raised two sons, George Alvin and Harvey Eugene. She was a devoted wife and mother and a faithful servant of her Lord Jesus.

In her later years she moved to Bernice, OK where she lived by the lake and enjoyed fishing and being involved with her church before returning to Turley and then finally ending up in Skiatook where she lived out her final few years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going on trips with her sisters and nieces. One of her favorite things was playing cards with the girls they always had great time
when they all got together.

Frances is preceded in death in death by her parents, George D. and Maggie E. Hunt, her son, George Alvin Cheek and five sisters, Arvagene Sparlin, Oleta Shrum, Ruth Sheldon, Lorrine McCaleb and Naomi Harrington.

Survivors include one son, Harvey Cheek, and his wife Jamie of Skiatook, OK. Three grandson’s, Scott (Sophia) Cheek of Ocala, FL, Randy (Amber) Cheek of Owasso, OK, Levi (Alicia) Cheek of Broken Arrow, OK. She also welcome Richard (Angela) Dugan-Starr of Kansas City, MO and Jena (Kurrey) Harmon of Skiatook, OK as her grandchildren. She had 3 great-granddaughters and 2 great-grandsons, 1 sister, Sue Beu, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
