Evelyn Leona Baltzer
(July 28, 1917 – December 2, 2006)

Evelyn Leona (Jost) Baltzer, 89, of Collinsville, OK, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2006. She was born July 28, 1917 in Flowing Wells Saskatchewan Canada to Henry S. and Helena Jost. In 1929 her family moved to a farm northwest of Hillsboro, Kansas where she completed high school. In 1938 Evelyn was married to Earl Baltzer in a double wedding ceremony with her brother Sam and his wife Helen. In 1939 Earl and Evelyn moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where Earl worked together with his brother-in-law as a carpenter. In 1945 they moved into a remodeled school house located on a farm southwest of Collinsville where they began a dairy farm and lived until they retired and moved into town. In September 2005 Evelyn suffered a massive stroke which paralyzed her right side, and was placed in the Francis Streidel Nursing Home.

Evelyn is survived by 3 sons: Daryle and wife Marie of Wichita KS, Dennis and wife Margie of Talala, OK, Don and wife Susan of Scottsdale, AZ, one brother, Bert Jost of Hillsboro, KS and one sister, Viola Hiebert of Newton KS, eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl and three brothers, Irvin, Ben and Sam.

Services will be Wednesday, December 6, at 1:30 pm at Discover Bible Church.
