Eva Lee Slayden, 93 of Talala, OK passed away, Friday, February 26, 2016 in Talala, OK. She was born April 6, 1922 in Last Chance, OK to Quince and Etta (Hill) Shepard.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Discovery Bible Fellowship Church with Pastor Mike Frantz officiating. Interment will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore.
Eva Lee Slayden, having lived in the Oologah-Talala since 1961, was a homemaker and hardworking farmer’s wife. Being a devout Christian, she attended Rabbs Creek Baptist Church for many years where she enjoyed singing in the choir. She truly loved her family and all of the family gatherings.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joe W. Slayden, 3 brothers: Otis, Claude and Jack, 4 sisters: Lena, Pauline, Dovie and Faye and a great-grandson: James Nathan Slayden.
She is survived by 2 sons: Allen Slayden and his wife Pam of Oologah and James Slayden of Talala, 5 grandchildren: Aaron and his wife Meloni, Ron, Amber, Cody and Melissa and 3 great-grandchildren: Kylie, Nathan and Rafe. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
