Obituary

Ervin Robinson, age 89, passed away at home on May 2, 2026.

Ervin was born on February 11, 1937, in a farmhouse in Glencoe, Oklahoma. He grew up in Glencoe and graduated from Glencoe High School in 1955. Shortly after, he joined the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War.

Following his military service, Ervin returned to Oklahoma and married Willene Matlock, also of Glencoe. Together they raised two children, Curtis and Lorrie. Ervin worked for many years as an electrician before retiring. In 1972, he moved his family to Collinsville, Oklahoma, where he remained a longtime resident.

Ervin was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Willene Robinson; his brother, Arnold Robinson; and his parents, Arthur and Laura Robinson.

He is survived by his sister, Naomi Buntin; his daughter, Lorrie Brackett; his son, Curtis Robinson; 4 grandchildren, Brandy Hardesty, John Brackett, Dustin Brackett, and Austin Robinson; 10 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Ervin greatly enjoyed fishing, gardening, and raising a variety of livestock throughout the years. He was a familiar face at the Collinsville Livestock Exchange every Saturday, where he enjoyed visiting with his many friends. In his later years, Ervin became an accomplished woodturner, producing hundreds of rustic wooden bowls and ink pens that reflected his patience, craftsmanship, and creativity.

He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love of the outdoors, and devotion to his family and community.
