Emily Marcelle Timmons
May 26, 1932 – May 12, 2025
The world was blessed on May 26, 1932, when Emily Marcelle Emigh was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Frank and Jessie Emigh. The youngest of three children, she was joyfully welcomed by her older brothers, Clyde and George, with whom she remained close throughout her life. That bond continued until the Lord gently called each of them home.
Emily grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Central High School in 1950, forming friendships that would last well into her 80s. On December 23, 1951, she married Joseph Timmons, in a heartfelt ceremony at Beams of Light Tabernacle in Tulsa.
Their journey together took them across the country—living in Arizona, California, Colorado, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, and Oklahoma—following her husband’s work assignments. No matter where life took her, Emily always considered Tulsa her true home.
Together, she and Joseph raised three children: two sons and a daughter. Throughout her life, she enjoyed bowling and playing golf, even serving as president of a women’s golf league in California. Professionally, she held various secretarial roles, but it was her dedication as a stay-at-home mom that she cherished most.
Later in life, Emily worked as a transcriber for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department in Tucson, Arizona, before retiring and opening a successful children’s clothing resale shop in Fallon, Nevada—The Kids Kloset. After selling the business, she returned to Tulsa to care for her ailing mother, a testament to her selfless heart. Several years after her mother passed, she once again called Tucson home until she passed.
A devout Christian, Emily read her Bible daily. When once asked about her favorite verse, she smiled and replied, “Well, all of them, of course.”
Emily is lovingly survived by her children:
Joe Timmons (Angie) of Catoosa, OK
Scott Timmons (Mona) of Fallon, NV
Debbie Alcala (Dan) of Tucson, AZ
She leaves behind a legacy of love in her 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Emily Marcelle Timmons lived a life full of grace, faith, laughter, and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
