Effie Agnes Hartness, 78, of Collinsville, passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 in Muskogee. She was born August 17, 1931 in Braggs, OK to Grant Redfearn and the former Olive Cook. Effie married George Hartness on December 23, 1948 in Tahlequah. They moved from Wichita, KS to Collinsville in 1967. While living in Collinsville, she worked as a Cafeteria Cook in the Collinsville Public School System. Effie was a member of Lakeside Full Gospel Fellowship in Oologah. She was very active in the church. Her hobbies included reading her Bible, working in the Mission at church, and crocheting. Effie was well known and will be missed dearly.
Effie is survived by 4 children, Beverly Crawford and her husband Dennis of Newkirk, George Douglas Hartness of Claremore, Pam Hartness and Marvin Roper of Collinsville, and Steve Hartness and his wife Kilie of Gallatin, TN; 4 siblings, Ruby Evans of Fort Gibson, James Redfearn of Sand Springs, Sidney Redfearn of CA, Louise Bradshaw of Tulsa, and Fannie Fallen and her husband Sam of Muskogee; 8 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Effie was preceded in death by her husband, George Hartness on June 24 1992; her parents Grant and Olive Redfearn; and 16 siblings.
In lieu of flowers, donation in Effie’s name can be made to Hometown Hospice 2307 S York St Muskogee, OK 74403.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 27, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, February 28, 2010 1:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., and Monday, March 1, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Blue Springs Baptist Church in Gideon, OK with Pastor Tony Marlor and Phil Platner officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Springs Cemetery. Under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
