Earl Clifford Schmeisser of Vera, OK passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, in Claremore at the age of 86. Earl was born on April 28, 1935 in Pawnee to Charles Christopher Schmeisser and the former Evelyn Minnie Birch. He proudly served his country in the Army and was stationed overseas for a time. Earl was married to Jo Ann Poyner on November 27, 1953 and together they raised two sons. She preceded him in death on May 11, 1994. He later married Coweta “Tweedie” Wilkinson and they remained together until Earl’s passing.
Earl made his career at Ford Glass Plant as a millwright, working there for 19 years. He also became a member of the United Auto Workers at that time. After leaving the industry he focused on farming and ranching. He found great enjoyment in working his cattle and driving his tractors on his farm near Vera. He will be missed by many.
Earl is survived by his wife Tweedie Schmeisser; 2 sons, Cory Schmeisser and Jeffrey Schmeisser; 3 grandchildren, Melody Turpin, Cole C. Schmeisser, and Curtis C. Schmeisser; 3 great grandchildren, Kylie Marshall, Robert Turpin, and Serenity Turpin; his half siblings, Robert Schmeisser and Bobbie Hayes; and a host of extended family and friends. Earl was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Dorothy Bettis, Chuck Schmeisser, John Schmeisser, and Loraine Norris.
A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 15, 2021 at First Southern Baptist Church in Vera, OK with Pastor Gary Butler officiating. Services will conclude at the Church. Earl will be interred at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville.
