Doug Durman, age 64, a long-time resident of Collinsville, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2008 at his home with his wife, daughter, and two sons at his side.
Doug was born in Boise City, Oklahoma on October 17, 1943 to Tipton and Babe (Johnson) Durman. He attended Boise City Schools and soon after joined the United States Army. On May 18, 1966 Doug married Bonita Bowen in Clayton, New Mexico and they were married for over 41 years before Doug passed away. He was employed in oil equipment sales and later owned and operated Durman Auto Supply, and currently was owner and operator of American Security Patrol, L.L.C. Doug enjoyed working as much as he could to take of his family and didn’t have a lot of time for hobbies, but he did enjoy old cars and watching sprint car races. He taught his family the importance of working hard, perseverance, and how to stand behind their beliefs. Doug was a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend; he will be missed very much.
Preceding Doug in death were his parents, Tipton and Babe Durman; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Doug is survived by his wife Bonita Durman of the home; one daughter, Angela Beryl Machado and he husband Tim of Benicia, California; two sons, Thomas Earl Durman of Cordell, Oklahoma; Anthony Douglas Durman of Collinsville, Oklahoma; one brother, Ronnie Durman and his wife Mary of Round Rock, Texas; two granddaughters, Tonya Layne Durman and Alexis Marie Durman; and numerous cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
Services for Doug Durman will be on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., at the Collinsville Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Helmer Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery under the direction of Collinsville Funeral Home and McClure Funeral Home of Cordell, Oklahoma.
