Donald Mel Rogers

Donald Mel Rogers, 82, of Tulsa, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015 in Tulsa. Donald was born January 1, 1933 in Hugo, OK to Melvin C. Rogers and Mary Elizabeth (Ferguson). He graduated high school in McAlester and later served in the Army during the Korean War. Donald married Marjorie French on August 21, 1959. She preceded him in death on July 15, 2010. He lived in Tulsa, where he worked as an electrician for I.B.E.W Local 584 until his retirement. Donald’s hobbies included golfing, hunting, and fishing. He was an avid outdoorsman. He was loved by his family and will be missed dearly.

Donald is survived by 2 Children: Darren Rogers and his wife Kim of Bristow, OK and Rhonda Rogers of Tulsa, OK. 1 grandchild: Derek Rogers of Bristow and 1 step-Grandchild, Tristan Dilly of Bristow. 1 sister: Ruth Holliday. 1 Cousin: Marcus Rogers of Piedmont, OK and a host of extended family and friends.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents: Melvin C. Rogers and Mary Elizabeth Rogers, his wife: Marjorie Rogers, and 1 sister: Lucretia Moore.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tim Prock officiating. Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, OK.

Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
