Donald Loyd Abel

Donald Loyd Abel, 74, of Collinsville, Ok passed away Friday, February 28, 2014 in Tulsa, OK. He was born December 19, 1939 in Ramona, OK to J.F. "Pete" and May (Ringer) Abel. He Married his wife, Geri, of 53 years on February 22, 1961 in Collinsville, OK. He served in the Navy as a Parachute Rigger. Don had a variety of occupations including a gas station mechanic, owned Abel Plumbing and Air Conditioning, part owner of D & G Exploration, part owner of Collinsville Livestock Auction, was a policemen for Collinsville and owned Don's Home. In retirement, He and his wife, Geri loved playing golf at least 5 days a week.

He survived by his wife, Geri. 2 Children: Greg Abel and his wife Sheryl of Houston, TX and Dona Lewis of Talala, OK. 5 Grandchildren: Lauren Abel, Nikki Abel, Darcy Barnes, Jennifer Lewis and Kendall Lewis, 4 Great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 Brothers: Woody Abel and his wife Sharon of Ramona, OK and Herman Abel and his wife Patty of Tulsa and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2014 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the Collinsville Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Tim Odom officiating. Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
