David Lee Wylie was born October 25, 1951 to Owen and Ouida Wylie in Odessa, TX . He and his seven siblings: Charles, Gene, Sidney, Roland, Jeannette, Grover, and Henry were raised in Big Springs, TX.
David joined the Navy during Vietnam. He was deployed on the USS Forrestal where he worked on the hangar deck. After his service he worked in construction, eventually starting his own business in 1992, D. Wylie Painting. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting up and making people laugh, and especially time with his grandkids and great grandbabies.
David passed at home being cared for by his stepdaughter, Amy, and family on April 8, 2026. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patty Jo Maxwell Wylie. His children Melanie Lynn Alvarado, Michael Adams, Kevin (Jennifer) Adams, Amy Adams, and Scotty Adams. Along with his 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, his brothers, Grover and Henry and many more extended family members.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, April 13, 2026, at the First Baptist Church of Oologah with Rev. Greg McElroy officiating.
Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
