David Wayne Borthick

David Wayne Borthick went to meet his Savior on March 4 ^th , 2017 at the age of 62. David was born and raised in Tulsa, OK and has lived in Collinsville, OK for 35 years. Born to Carroll and Betty Borthick in 1954, David was an adventurous and lovable child. He spent his childhood enjoying his siblings, playing in the high school band, playing the drums, playing football, driving his Camaro, and learning about the Final Frontier. David graduated from East Central High School, Tulsa, OK; in 1973.

David married Pamela Small in 1973.

In 1975, David welcomed his first child, Becky (Borthick) DeBoer.

David married his best friend in 1981, Michelle (Anderson) Borthick and was married for the past 35 years.

David and Michelle welcomed two boys; Paul David in January of 1986 and Joshua Dean in October of 1987.

As a master pattern maker, artist and sheet metal journeyman; David had a passion for working with his hands and creating medals, air ducts, and Native American & military regalia.

David earned his Associates degree in 1999, with O-Z/Gedney, as a Journeyman Foundryman.

Liberty Patterns was established in 2000 and was his passion. Creating patterns for oil, tool and die foundry’s out of Houston, TX until 2010

David was employed with Dale & Lee’s Service for the past 14 years. Before that he worked at AirForce Heat and Air.

He spent many years learning and perfecting his skill in martial arts and was an active volunteer at the John 3:16 Mission; where he taught inner city youth about Jesus and martial arts. He also participated in the Street Light Gang at the John 3:16 mission where he provided Christian outreach through play, sports and prayer. David was a long-term member of the Collinsville Church of the Nazarene, and was an active Caravan volunteer, teaching the 5-6 ^th grade boys and girls about the pillars of the Nazarene denomination.

He spent his life honoring his ancestry, Cherokee heritage, his family and spreading the love of Jesus. He loved visiting with family, playing with his dogs, sharing his wisdom and making others laugh with his unique sense of humor. He was always able to connect with others and was always quick to give a smile.

David is survived by mother, Betty Borthick; his wife Michelle of the home; his children, Becky DeBoer and husband Brent of Owasso, Paul Borthick and wife Ashley of Wylie, TX, and Josh Borthick of Tulsa; his brother, Ray Borthick and wife Donna of Glenpool, and Ellen Ranck and husband Bob of Dallas, TX; 4 grandchildren, Nick DeBoer and wife Maggie, Jordan Borthick and wife Chynna, Jason DeBoer, and Logan DeBoer and wife Autumn; 1 great grandchild, Kilee Kay DeBoer; his in-laws, Robert and Deloras Anderson, Nora Anderson all of Collinsville, and Jean Pate of Cheyanne, WY. David was preceded in death by his father Carroll Borthick and his brother-in-law Robert W. Anderson, Jr.

Visitation for David will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Collinsville Nazarene Church.
