Cooter Sammy Lee Austin, Jr.

Memorial Service will be held Wednesday June 8th at 10:00 for Cooter Lee Austin 33 of Collinsville, at Meadowcreek United Methodist Church, 14205 E. 146th Street North, Collinsville Oklahoma. There will be no graveside services. Pastor Brian K. Mangan officiating.

Cooter Lee was born March 2, 1983 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, son of Connie Jean Hall Goad and Sammy Lee Austin. He passed Sunday June 5th @ St. John Hospital, in Tulsa.

Cooter is survived by his parents Connie and Harold Goad, Jr. of Collinsville, Sammy and Denise Austin of Sand Springs. Grandparents John Hall of Collinsville, Deloris Austin and Vernon McDonald both of Sand Springs. Uncle, Rohn Hall and wife Judy of Nowata. Siblings; Naomi Young and Rick Lee of Bixby, Chasidy Lumsden and husband Greg of Sand Springs, Brandy and husband Josh Orcutt of Sand Springs, Steven Austin and Jessica Austin both of Sand Springs, 2 nephews Zachary Young of Justin Texas and Daniel Young of Tulsa, 2 nieces Kamryn Jean and Jordyn Nichole Lumsden and numerous family and friends.

Cooter is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joyce Hall, Sam Austin, Betty and Harold Goad, Sr. and Judy McDonald.

Cooter graduated from Collinsville High School in 2001. He volunteered with the Collinsville Rural Fire Department for many years. He later attended college at Rogers State University to obtain his paramedic license.

Two of his biggest fans in life were his nieces, whom he loved dearly.

Activities he enjoyed were going jug fishing with his Pappy John, hunting with his Grandpa Sam and anything to do with water and the outdoors. . . . His greatest passion was working in the medical field, he loved helping people and was good at it.

He enjoyed putting a smile on people’s faces, the cold weather, playing in the rain, cooking with his Nanny JJ and especially enjoyed sharing stories with his dad about emergency calls he worked. Just being a country boy and shooting guns. He will truly be missed. . . . . . .

Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home in Collinsville.
