Claremore

Connie Jo Roberts Hensley, 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2026 leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories, unconditional love, and a legacy of kindness that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Connie was born on October 5, 1954, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Tommy Gene Roberts and Bonita Ann (Peace) Hanes. She grew up in Oologah where she attended Oologah Public Schools and was a proud member of the Class of 1972.

She attended Draughn School of Business where she learned the skill of “keypunch” then began her career with Billy Joe Hargis Ministries before going to work for TurnKey. Connie later dedicated many years to working in data and information technology with American Airlines, Sabre, EDS, and HP in Tulsa. She was a faithful charter member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church.

On March 8, 1991, Connie married W.E. “Earl” Hensley, Jr. Their lives were forever blessed with the arrival of their daughter, Raegan Virginia, in 1992. From the moment Raegan entered the world, she became the light of Connie’s life and her greatest joy. That love only grew when Connie received one of life’s sweetest blessings, the title of “Mamaw” with the birth of her grandson, Kayd Ryker, in 2013. Being a mother and grandmother brought Connie immeasurable happiness.

To know Connie was to love her. She had a heart as big as they come and a compassion for others that was evident in everything she did. She was selfless, thoughtful, and always willing to put the needs of those she loved before her own. But anyone who knew Connie also knew that her kind heart came with a wonderfully quick wit. Her perfectly timed one-liners, sharp sense of humor, and ability to keep everyone on their toes brought countless smiles and laughter to family gatherings and every moment alike. You never quite knew what Connie might say next, but you could almost always count on it being memorable. And for those who knew her best, there are certain things that will forever bring a smile and a memory of Connie. We’ll never hear “Mary, Did You Know?” quite the same way again or watch an episode of The Pioneer Woman without thinking of her. Those little moments, the inside jokes, and the laughter she brought into our lives are among the treasures her family will hold close forever.

Connie’s greatest legacy will not be measured by the years she lived, but by the love she gave so freely, the lives she touched and the countless memories she leaves behind. She had a special way of making those around her feel loved, and her presence was a gift to everyone fortunate enough to share in her life. While her family will deeply miss her laughter, her humor, and her loving presence, they will forever carry the lessons she taught them and the memories they made together.

Connie is survived by her loving daughter, Raegan Breshears and husband Matthew; her beloved grandson, Kayd Ryker Hensley; and granddaughter, Kambrie Breshears. She is also survived by her mother, Bonita Hanes; sisters, Mary Bilby and husband David, and Tammy Walkingstick; stepmother Shirley Roberts. She also leaves behind five nieces, one nephew, seven great nieces, six great nephews, and a multitude of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hensley; father, Tommy Roberts; sister, Sheri Roberts; stepfather, Forrest Hanes; and her grandparents, Bill and Waunita Roberts and Amos and Dorothy Peace.

Connie’s life was a beautiful reminder that the greatest gifts we leave behind are not things, but the love we give, the laughter we share, and the memories that live on in the hearts of those we leave behind.
