Colleen M. Haddock

Colleen Haddock was born in Tulsa on July 13, 1927. She passed from this life on Friday September 7, 2018. She was proceeded in death by her husband Leonard, her parents and all five of her siblings. She is survived by her son Jon Haddock, wife Pam. Her daughter Janet Shlitz. Four grandchildren Blu Haddock, wife Amy, Marla Haddock-Pounds, husband Wade. Beth Henry, husband Steve. Cara Schlitz, husband Quint. Nine great grandchildren Colbe Haddock, fiancé Haley. Cadyn & Carsyn Haddock, Westin & Emily Pounds, Gavin & Brenna Henry, Connor & Ian Schlitz. Two great, great grands Maci & Maverick Haddock.

Colleen was born in Tulsa to Florence Hatfield & Sieon Miller. She was one of six children. She had three brothers Jack, Red, and Cotton Miller. Two sisters Rita & Betty Miller.

Colleen attended Skiatook Schools. She graduated in 1945 and was valedictorian of her senior class. She married Leonard Haddock on December 27, 1944 in Tulsa. They had two children Jon and Janet Haddock.

Colleen played sports and often bragged to her grandkids about her athletic ability, telling her granddaughter Cadyn that she got her athletic abilities from her.

She met Leonard while in high school and refused to marry him before she finished school. She would tell the story of how he tricked her into marrying him because he went to Tulsa and bought a marriage license and told her that she had to marry him before it expired. Colleen and Leonard moved to Collinsville where they raised their two children and ran the family dairy business and also a  fuel station they opened on the corner of Memorial and Hwy 20 called Haddock’s DX Station.

Colleen loved garage sales and went faithfully every weekend for years. She enjoyed painting and had a booth at Tulsa state fair every year where she sold her art work. She was absolutely crazy about Keith Urban & talked about him as if she knew him. Colleen loved buying & selling antiques. She opened a antique store on main street called Cherry Creek Antiques a short time before retiring. Colleen loved her kids and grandkids and enjoyed telling stories about them to everyone she talked to. Colleen moved to Evergreen Care Center in 2013 where she enjoyed playing games, doing craft activities & going to church with the many friends she made while living there.
