Cleo Fifer

Cleo Fifer of Collinsville, OK, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009 in Collinsville. He was 97. Cleo was born March 17, 1912 in Jay County, Indiana to Walter and Ethel Fifer. At the age of four, he moved to Oklahoma where he lived for the remainder of his life. He met and married Bertha Elnora and together they raised four children. He worked as a mechanic for American Airlines until his retirement. Cleo’s hobbies included fishing, bowling, reading, and traveling. He will be missed by many.

Cleo is survived by his 4 children, Carolyn Brinkley and her husband Don of Collinsville, Joan Cole and her husband Don of Albuquerque, NM, Don Fifer and his wife Brenda of Collinsville, and Ron Fifer and his wife Paula of Collinsville; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 54 years, and 3 siblings.

Visitation for Cleo will be held Friday, April 24, 2009 from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Community Church in Collinsville with Rick Brinkley officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery. Under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
