Clarence Wilbur Hart

November 10, 1918 — May 25, 2010

Clarence W. Hart, 91, born to John and Faye Hart, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 in Redding, CA.
Clarence was born in Three Sands, OK on November 10, 1918. His family later moved to Stillwater, OK where he attended Oklahoma A & M (later changed to Oklahoma State University). He met and married Lela Brown, who was to be his wife of 70 years. They moved to Hutchinson, KS where Clarence worked for the local paper mill, until the beginning of World War II. Clarence joined the war effort and served as a Navy Seabee in the Philippines. After returning from the war, Clarence returned to work at the paper mill for another 10 years until he decided to continue his education and get his Electronics Engineering degree. They moved to Wichita, KS in the late 1950’s where Clarence went to work for a local television station and then on to San Jose, CA, in 1967, where Clarence worked as an engineer in the control room at a local TV station, Channel 11. They lived in San Jose for 20 years before returning to Collinsville, OK. Both Clarence and Lela, for health reasons, would return one more time to live with their daughter in Redding, CA. Clarence will be laid to rest, in Stillwater, OK, next to his wife Lela, who passed away on May 15, 2007.
Clarence loved camping, woodworking (he has made several beautiful Grand-father clocks), and most of all gardening. He had a great sense of humor and an exceptional work ethic. If there was work to be done, whether for himself, a friend, a neighbor or a family member, he was the first to volunteer.
Clarence is survived by his daughter, Barbara Peterson and her husband Dave who reside in Northern California, his son, Charles Hart and his wife Andrea who reside in Oregon, four grandchildren: Julia, Art, Aron and Melissa, six great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. He will be missed but forever live in our hearts as a joyful spirit.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Sunnybrook Christian Church, 421 E. Richman, RD, Stillwater, OK with Rev. Paul Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater.

Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
