Clarence Sylvester Barlow

Mr. Barlow was born March 6, 1918 in a farmhouse northeast of Skiatook to George Lewis Barlow and Ina “Iverson” Barlow. Barlow lived in the Collinsville area most of his life, but spent his last few months in the home of his eldest son in Springfield, Missouri. He died November 22, 2007 in Springfield, Missouri as his family prayed by his side.

He was a lifelong devout Christian with strong Faith, starting each day by reading scriptures from his Bible. He was a hard-working dairy and crop farmer. Additionally, he did carpentry and electrical work, building his own homes and helping with those of his friends and family. He attended school in Vera, Oklahoma and married Ruby Jane Forbes on May 17, 1940 who preceded him in death on November 7, 1992.

Survivors include: his two sons, Stanley Barlow and his wife, Freida, of Springfield, Missouri, and Larry Barlow and his wife, Louise, of Little Rock, Arkansas; one brother, Charlie Barlow of Yucaipa, California; four grandchildren, Janice Nance of Nixa, Missouri, Chelle McGee of Keller, Texas, Chris Barlow of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Kim Gates of Little Rock, Arkansas; six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Chris Barlow, Donnie Landis, Kenneth Wayne Landis, Joe Rozell, Pat Walker, and Jimmy Wolfe. Honorary Pallbearers were Charlie Barlow, Earl Schmeiser, Glen Stephens, Gale Stephens, Kenneth Stephens, and C. L. Stephens.

Funeral services for Clarence Sylvester Barlow, 89 of Collinsville, will be at 10:00am, Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at the Collinsville Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Osage Gardens Cemetery in Skiatook. Harold Clement will be officiating. Visitation will be Monday, November 26, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Collinsville Funeral Home.

Services were under the direction of Collinsville Funeral Home.
