Christina Constance Elizabeth DeMelo Roberts, 80, died Friday, December 4, surrounded by her loving family. Christina was born on December 9, 1939, in Tiverton, Rhode Island.
Christina married her husband John Roberts in 1957. Together the two traveled from Rhode Island to Texas until they bought a home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her legacy is her family. As a stay-at-home, she dedicated herself to raising her three children. As a babysitter, she also cared for several children in the neighborhood after school and during the holiday breaks.
After her children grew up and had kids of their own, she spent every summer caring for her young grandchildren and teaching them to read and write.
She was quick to open her home to anyone who needed a place to sleep or a warm meal to eat. She volunteered countless hours at nursing homes bringing food and cheer, especially during the holidays. She also volunteered to be the secretary at Rabbs Creek Baptist church for more than a decade.
Christina is survived by her Daughter Lori Callen and her husband Jim Callen, Sons John Roberts, and Michael Roberts, and her adopted son Robbi Alexander.
Grandchildren, Lisa Cote, Christopher Moore, David Roberts, Adam and wife Sawyer McCreary, Amber Gunther, Kristy Sturgill and Andrew Callen. Along with six great-grandchildren, and one on the way.
