Carlton Vernon Howard, 90, of Collinsville, OK passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2014 in Collinsville. He was born February 14, 1924 in Tiawah, OK to Abe Leo and Clara (Webb) Howard. He had lived all of his life in this area. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #165, Past President of the Collinsville School Board, past member of the Kiwanis Club and the VFW. He retired from VVEC where he was the Director of Operations. He served in the Navy during WWII.
He is survived by 2 children: Carleeta Howard of Las Vegas, NV. And Ken Howard and his wife Dana of Collinsville. 4 Grandchildren: Nichole Thompson and Jeremiah of Las Vegas, NV, Justin Howard and his wife Tara of Collinsville, Jayme Wisdom of Collinsville, and Joel Howard and his wife Taylor of Collinsville. 4 Great-grandchildren: Cannon, Aspen, Peyton and Lily. He is also survived by a sister: Deloris Cochran of Owasso, OK.
He is preceded in death by his wife Florence and a son: Gary Howard.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 12, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Collinsville with Brother Paul Simpson officiating. Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery.
