Born on November 11, 1942, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Billy demonstrated a strong work ethic and commitment throughout his career, most notably serving as the traffic manager for Mohawk Steel. His professional contributions to the company reflected a deep understanding of logistics and operations, where he was respected for his reliability and leadership.

Beyond his professional life, Billy was a man of varied interests and talents. He took great enjoyment in fishing and bowling, activities that allowed him to connect with others and relax. Additionally, Billy was a painter, finding joy and expression in the arts. His love of community and tradition was also evident in his participation in square dancing, a pastime he cherished deeply.

Billy is survived by his wife, Sandra Hawkins, and their children Penny Hawkins, Dennis Dewayne Hawkins, and Richard Scott Hawkins. He also leaves behind his siblings Delmar Scott, Pete, Rose Ann, and Betsy, along with a legacy that includes 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Billy’s family remains a testament to his enduring love and strength.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmar Scott Hawkins and Peggy Brewer Hawkins, whose memory he carried with him throughout his life. His grandson, Nicholas Lee Pippin also preceded him in death.
