Billie June Shoup Eleves of Okmulgee, passed away August 9, 2007 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa. She was born December 9, 1950 in Hominy, OK to William G. and Waneta L. (Sims) Shoup.
Billie grew up in the Oologah area and graduated from Oologah-Talala High School. She attended Rogers State College in Claremore, NSU in Tahlequah, and received her PhD through Oklahoma State University. Billie and her husband William F. Eleves made their home in Okmulgee, and worked as a psychologist for the State of Oklahoma. She was active in various church groups and helped in her community. She loved to paint, cook, and write, but most of her joy came from taking care of her family.
She is survived by her husband William F Eleves, of the home; her two children, Terrill Paige Thorson Dabney and husband Stuart of the U.S. Army, and Erik Thorson and companion Stacie Newham of Tulsa; one step-son Josef Eleves and companion April Zimmer of WI; one sister, Joycelene (Joyce) M. Jackson and husband Gerald (Jerry) E. of Oologah; one brother Robert N. Shoup and wife Kim of Tulsa; five sisters-in-law, Marian Clark of WI, Carol and husband Lynn McSperitt of OK, Rosemary Warrington, of OK, Debra and husband Robert Winters of AZ and Renee Gillum and husband Bryan of OK; one brother-in-law, Paul Eleves of OK; one niece Gaylene Jones and husband Tony, of Oologah; one nephew Robert (Robby) Jackson and wife Cheryl, Oologah; twenty-two great nieces and nephews; three great-great nieces and nephews; and numerous friends and loved ones.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 11, 2007 from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. and Sunday August 12, 2007 from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Collinsville Funeral Home, 1302 West Main Street, Collinsville. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 13, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Rejoice Church 13413 E 106th St. N, Owasso. Under the direction of Collinsville Funeral Home, (918) 371-2111.
