Billie Pearl (Hines) Kistler

September 30, 1953 — July 20, 2025

In Loving Memory of Billie Pearl (Hines) Kistler
Affectionately known as BP, Granny, Grandma Billie, Aunt B and of course Mama/Mom

Billie Pearl was born on September 30, 1953, in Tulsa, OK. and was the 13th of 16th children to Osa and Pearl (Crabtree). She passed away peacefully at the age of 71 on Sunday, July 20, 2025, in Okmulgee, OK., surrounded by the love of her family. A woman of quiet strength, deep compassion, and boundless generosity, Billie lived a life rooted in love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those around her.

In 1971, Billie Pearl married William "Bill" Swalley, living a full life with three children who were always the center of her attention. Billie was briefly married to Danny Kistler in 1990 but found her one true love Shawn O’Dell and began their life together in 1998. Through many celebrations and trials, they remained each other’s rock — a true partnership built on love, laughter, and unwavering support.

Billie is survived by her forever partner, Shawn O’Dell of Ramona, OK., and by her three children and their spouses: Billie Jo and husband Sam Brown of Okmulgee, OK; Kathie and husband Shane Peugh of Fort Worth, TX; and Michael and wife Shelby Swalley of Nowata, OK. She was a proud grandmother to twelve grandchildren — Jeffrey, Jared, Jaimi, Katie, Grant, Jake, Benjamin, Olivia, Tatum, Draven, Sawyer, and Madden — and a loving great-grandmother to sixteen great-grandchildren. Her family was her greatest joy and her deepest pride.

She is also survived by four siblings — Algia, Dorothy, David, and Bobby — and many nephews and nieces who cherished her presence in their lives.

Billie was preceded in death by her parents, Osa and Pearl Hines of Ramona, and by her eleven siblings: brothers Charles, Richard, Sonny, Howard, and Jack, and sisters Virginia, Iona, Leona, JoAnn, Viola, and Mary.

A woman of many skills and endless curiosity, Billie had a wealth of knowledge and know-how that she shared freely. She was selfless, generous, and always the first to offer help — never expecting anything in return. Her kindness, and her giving spirit were the foundation of the life she lived.

She had a deep love for all things Eagle, Native American, the color blue, Dr. Pepper and anything cinnamon. Billie was an avid gardener and crafter with a green thumb and a special love for peonies — though she grew flowers of every kind with beauty and care. She found joy in puzzles, board games, and card games, and was always up for a lively round of marbles or farkle — often playing with family and friends wherever she went. She could also pitch a mean game of horseshoes, always with a competitive spirit and laughter.

Above all, Billie Pearl was a proud and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her life was a testament to love in action — lived daily in service to her family and friends. She embodied the spirit of Hebrews 13:16: “But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her legacy of love, laughter, and quiet strength will never be forgotten.
