Bessie Pauline Bacon

BESSIE PAULINE BACON

(July 25, 1927 – June 2, 2025)

Bessie Pauline Bacon of Collinsville passed away June 2, 2025, in Owasso at the age of 97.  Bessie was born on July 25, 1927, in Barnsdall, Ok to George and Blanche (Clark) Wilcox.  Bessie graduated from Vera, Ok high school at the age of 18.

Shortly after graduating, Bessie married Kenneth Bacon in Oswego, Kansas on March 25, 1946.  She gave birth to her first born, Brenda (Bacon) Hinds on January 12, 1947.  That same year on December 25, 1947, she gave birth to her second born, Carol (Bacon) Shrout.  On August 10, 1953, she gave birth to her third born, Ronald Bacon.

Bessie work for many years at Zebco building reels.   After that, she worked at St. Francis Hospital as a Nurse Aide and then on to private care giving until her retirement.

Bessie was a long-time member of Baptist Tabernacle Church in Collinsville. She spent many hours gardening, camping, fishing, cooking and church activities.

Bessie is survived by her three children, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, other family and friends.  Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Bacon, grandson, Travis Bacon, granddaughter, Regan Bacon.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Baptist Tabernacle Church in Collinsville, with Pastor Gary Boyd officiating.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to Baptist Tabernacle Church Building Fund, 13300 E. 136th St. North, Collinsville, OK  74021.
