Aseneth Christeen Tate

Aseneth Christeen Tate, 91, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2007. She was born February 12, 1916, in Hobart, Oklahoma to Cynthia and Mitchell Scott. She married David Howard Tate in Owasso, Oklahoma on June 30, 1934.
Christeen Tate has lived in the Collinsville area for 62 years. Together with her husband Howard, they raised six children in the Collinsville school district. She had a chicken farm and delivered eggs to the area residents. She worked at the Senior Citizen Center in the kitchen and delivered meals using her own car and drove the senior citizen bus to pick up the seniors. She ran the craft room where they made ceramics and bead work. She has been a faithful member of the Church Of Christ for 50 years. The church was started by her husband’s parents, Orey and Lulu Tate when it was a small white building with one room and has attended there all these years here in Collinsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; one son, Douglas Tate; three grandsons, Mitchell Tate and Lloyd Douglas Tate and Wilbur Turpin. She is survived by five children, David Tate and wife Frances of Mangum, Okla.; Van Tate and wife Irene of Tulsa, Okla..; Frances O’Dell of Collinsville; Russell Tate and wife Jeri of Massachusetts; Marie Baltzer and husband Daryle of Wichita, Kansas; and also her beloved tomcat; 26 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren and 39 great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Benevolent Fund of the Church Of Christ at 1010 West Broadway in Collinsville, Oklahoma.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at the Church of Christ in Collinsville. Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Funeral Home.
