Arvin Hugh Middleton, was born on February 4, 1935, in Wynne, Arkansas and was sent to his eternal home on November 2, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 90. He was the beloved son of Charlie and Mae Middleton.
Arvin or Uncle Al, as he was affectionately known, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him for the profound impact he had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Arvin is survived by his loving brother and sister, John Middleton, and Laverne Hess. He also leaves behind one son, two daughters, and one foster son who adored him dearly, James Middleton, Annette Helmick, Jenniffer Hall, and David Helmick. His surviving slew of grandkids are Amy and Jacob Nash, Raven Helmick, Christopher Moore, Shaun Hall and Alexis Smith who shared in his joyful spirit along with many other family members who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Charlie and Mae Middleton and his beloved wife, Wilma F. Middleton. One daughter, Alice Faye Smith and one granddaughter, Amber Marie Hall. He is also predeceased by several brothers and sisters who he loved very much.
After school, Arvin served in the United States Army and spent time in Panama, protecting the Panama Canal. After the Army he met his beloved wife Wilma Bagwell. He instantly fell in love and went the next day and got a job at Byron Jackson Pumps. He then dated and married Wilma and became the father of Jenniffer, Annette, Alice, James and foster son David. 30 years later he retired from the same job. Outside of loving his family, Arvin found joy in fishing, hunting and playing dominoes. Those who knew Arvin will remember him for his infectious smile and overwhelming laughter, his deep-rooted faith in Jesus, and his unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone he encountered. He had a rare gift for making others smile and laugh, leaving a lasting impact on all who crossed his path.
Visitation will be 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home. The family will be present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
The Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Arvin H. Middleton will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home in Collinsville, Oklahoma.
Although Arvin’s physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. Arvin, may your light forever shine brightly in our hearts.
