Ann Owens, loving wife, mother and “Granny” went home to Jesus on August 13, 2021.
Ann was born to Marvin and Ruby (Burress) Winton on June 7, 1945, in Coweta, Oklahoma. As a child, she was the baby girl behind three older brothers. She grew up loving to play and watch basketball. She loved to watch her grandson play and would plan her days around games during March Madness. Her favorite was watching the Oklahoma City Thunder. She also loved to watch any sport her grandchildren were playing. She was a proud Oklahoma Sooner fan and especially loved Sooner basketball!
Ann met her future husband, Leo, in high school. They married on April 18, 1964. They had one son, Steve Owens, in 1969 while stationed in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. They eventually found their way back home to Collinsville and then Vera where she lived the rest of her life.
Ann is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Dana Owens and her grandchildren- Lauren, Paige and Cooper. She is also survived by two brothers, Gary and Janice Winton and Dennis and Brenda Winton, brother-in-law Paul Owens and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leo, and one brother, Paul Winton.
Services will be held at the Vera Full Gospel Fellowship at 120 W. Ramona Ave in Vera, OK on Wednesday, August 18 th at 10:00. Public visitation will be at Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 17 th from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The family will be present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
