Amos B. Glover of Collinsville, OK, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2010. He was 80. Amos was born March 27, 1930 to Elric and Rena May (Walker) Glover in Sapulpa, OK. He married Viola Hayworth on July 15, 1952 in Tulsa. Together they had 8 children. Amos worked as a roofing contractor and a Pinkerton security guard for most of his life. He was also an ordained minister and was a tent evangelist traveling from coast to coast. His devotion to the city of Collinsville has been proven over the years. He had been an animal control officer and a member of the merchant police for the city of Collinsville over the years. However, he is best known by his family as being a wonderful father and grandfather.
Amos is survived by 7 children, Gloria and Jeff Rice of Chelsea, Dan and Diane Glover of Collinsville, Les and Grace Glover of Morris, IL, Ted and Janet Glover of Collinsville, Iva Webber of Prattville, Dorothy and Jeff Feeback of Collinsville, and Tina and Frank Myers of Collinsville; 1 sister, Martha Taylor of Plainview, TX; 3 brothers, Jerry Robert and Peggy Glover of Houston, TX, Nahum and Randi Glover of Houston, TX, and Naiman Glover of Dallas, TX; 23 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; numerous family and friends. Amos was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Viola; his son Amos Leslie; 3 sisters, Erma Sullivan, Mary Coats, and Dorcas Flores; and 1 brother, Hosea Jezreel.
In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up for Amos at Bank of the Lakes. Donations can be made at any Bank of the Lakes locations to cover expenses incurred during his illness.
Visitation: Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Sunday, September 26, 2010 from 1:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., and Monday, September 27, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Faith Fellowship with Brother James Haynes officiating. Interment will follow at White Oak Cemetery.
