Alice T. Aldridge was 85 when she passed away, Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Sterling House in Owasso, OK. She was born in Rochester, New York to Harold and Tirzah Lowe on July 16, 1928.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Richard and his wife Jane, and her husband Rex W. Aldridge.
Alice is survived by 1 brother: Bill and his wife Dee and 5 nephews. She is also survived by a step-daughter, Connie, three grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
In 1958, Mrs. Aldridge was teaching in Grants, New Mexico where she met and married Rex.
She taught elementary for thirty years, Twenty of those years were spent teaching second and third grades at Wilson School, Collinsville, OK.
After retiring, Alice wanted to help children further their education. She freely tutored a number of wonderful children. Their progress was her reward.
Mrs. Aldridge loved to teach, enjoyed semi and classical music, spending time with her pet dog and cat, working in her garden, playing Canasta, Bunco, Bridge, making quilts and traveling.
She was a member of the Oklahoma's Retired teacher Association.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday at the Meadowcreek United Methodist Church with Rev. Brain Mangan and Derrell Morrow. Interment will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2013 at Highland Cemetery in Durant, OK.
Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
