Alberta Lee Armstrong, 89, of Talala, OK passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019 in Tulsa, OK. She was born July 17, 1930 in Lawton, OK to William Riley and Esther Elizabeth (Herndon) Murphy. The family moved to Talala in 1963. She was the Cafeteria Director for Oologah-Talala High school for many years having retired in 1987 to become a snowbird with her husband, George, in their RV. She loved gardening, crocheting, and knitting. She also loved to play the piano and traveling in their RV. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Talala. In 1991 she moved to Claremore, from there she moved to Owasso Baptist Village where she resided at the time of her death.
Visitation will be noon to 8:00 pm, Monday, November 11, 2019 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home. The family will be present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Talala with Bill McComb officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Talala.
She is survived by 5 children: Phyllis Gilmore and her husband Charlie of Tulsa, Larry Armstrong of Tulsa, Vickie Workman and her husband Eldon of Tulsa, Cheryl Armstrong of Claremore and Dale Armstrong of Claremore, 11 Grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers: Joe Murphy and his wife Jeanette of Moore, OK, John Murphy and his wife Pat of Walters, OK and Dorothy Kizer and her husband Buddy of Dallas, TX. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Armstrong, 1 brother: Mack Murphy and 1 sister: Dona Woodall.
Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
