Aaron Eugene “Gene” Wilson, 88, of Owasso, OK, passed away Monday, October 5, 2009 in Owasso. He was born January 25, 1921 in Avant, OK to Thomas J. Wilson and the former Francis E. Raulston. He had lived all of his life in the Collinsville area. He served his country during WWII, having landed on Omaha Beach, and again during the Korean Conflict. He retired from American Airlines and was a Bi-Vocational Minister. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Vera where he served as minister for at least 30 years.
He is survived by his wife: Jo Chandler Wilson of Owasso, OK. 3 Children: Sharol Gene Messmore and her husband Dale of Henryetta, OK, Gerald E. Wilson of Henryetta, OK and Carole Lee Carnagey and her husband Bob of Hominy, OK. 1 step-son: Rick Chandler and his wife Brenda of Catoosa, OK. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife: Reatha Wilson, 2 sisters: Beatrice Hendrix and Alice Miller.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 7, 2009, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Collinsville, OK with Rev. Mark Wright Officiating. Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
