Gladys Lillian Hudson, 91, formerly of Collinsville, OK passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012 in Claremore, OK. She was born December 21, 1920 on her family’s farm in Cimarron County, OK. She lived with her parents, Jacob Carl Doll and Winnie Viola Doll until her marriage to Lloyd Martin Hudson on June 4, 1938.
Gladys and her husband began their life together in Cimarron County, OK. While her husband worked at various jobs as well as having a farming operation, Gladys was faithful in being a housewife and raising her children. In 1961 they went into partnership with her husband’s brother on a cattle ranch near Grove, OK. They made their home there for forty years until he passed away October 2001. In 2002 Gladys moved to Collinsville, OK where she lived until her health dictated that she live in an assisted living facility and later in a nursing home.
Throughout her life, she was very active in church work. She served the Lord by teaching Sunday school classes and being available to play the piano when needed. At the time of her death, she was a member of the Collinsville Assembly of God Church.
During her life she did work a few jobs outside of the home. Two jobs that were particularly enjoyable were working as a cook at the Grove Hospital and at Turkey Ford School.
She considered friends as being very special in her life. She had many memories of friends and maintained contact with several of them from each stage of her life.
She is survived by her sons-
Donald R Hudson and wife Dortha of Bartlesville, OK Martin W. Hudson and wife Patricia of Owasso, OK Jerry D Hudson and wife Connie of Clearwater, KS
Also surviving her are six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be noon to 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
Funeral services will 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Collinsville First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Jeff Bradley officiating. Interment will follow at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville. Services are under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home.
